You know Moxie Raia as the soulful artist who has toured & collaborated with some of the biggest artists on the planet. Now, Moxie embodies the spirit of INDEPENDENCE as a gifted songwriter, vocalist, performer, engineer (audio), designer, and many more talents. With a newly curated team & aesthetic, Moxie Raia is more than ready for 2023, diving into deeper, more vulnerable music.

The new era pulls from Moxie’s true, hard life experience and tells a honest story of heartbreak, self-love, and intention. The new music needs producers to finalize the extraordinary concepts Moxie has independently written & engineered. Moxie’s already added collaborators like Rodney Jerkins, Happy Perez, and Drake on her concepts alone for Soft. Moxie has curated a fresh new body of work that fully leverages her "acrobatic vocal range” but has also worked with her team to carefully roadmap an efficient and strategic launch plan to propel Moxie into super stardom.

Moxie Raia

Soulful Superstar. New Team. New Energy.

After carefully crafting a handful of sonically cohesive R&B-Pop tracks, Moxie has prepped an EP to re-present herself to the world and ready her supporters for what’s to come. Now signed to Slash MGMT and with the force of Slash Studios behind her, Moxie has a full production company and influencer network at her disposal to realize her vision with A-list resources. The team has also curated a fresh creative arsenal of experienced creative directors, choreographers, and top tier vocal producers with whom Moxie has been curating her new sound. Moxie has taken her A-list team and quietly been building a new body of work, with a fresh new visual concept, that takes advantage of her greatest tool: the gift of her STORY and her VOICE.

The idea consists of a 1 day shoot to build a visual performance narrative that will be a TIMELESS WORK OF ART.

UPCOMING EP: "SOFT"

UPCOMING EP: "SOFT"

An era of light, self rediscovery, vulnerability and connection.

This new project is about the power in vulnerability, and showing all the nuances of being a woman. I hope that my honesty empowers my audience to feel comfortable exploring their own emotions.
— In Conversation with Moxie Raia

Single 1: Break Even

Put on a happy face, so you can’t tell that it’s upside down... start by dancing with the lights out…

- Moxie Raia, “Break Even”

Singles listed in no particular order…

“Break Even,” a statement powerful track, is signature of Moxie’s one-of-a-kind vocal performance supported by outstanding alternative Pop production. The song speaks honestly about Moxie’s own journey of pulling herself out of dark mental spaces, finding the moments that lift her spirit and pull her towards light in her life again. “Break Even” was written amongst friends on a writing trip to Happy Perez’s studio in Houston. Moxie’s tasteful artistry has resulted in a song that, upon first listen is a pop anthem, and upon second, is a valuable social commentary. With the growing social emphasis on the importance of mental health, “Break Even” is poised for success; sonically polished and highly relevant.

Single 2: “Gravely”

You made the bed, now lay in it. Just for a bit...we can’t be friends.
— "Gravely" by Moxie Raia

Gravely, co-written by Drake in his kitchen, turns us over to a bolder character in this “soft” project with a classic, precipitous 2010s synth backbone. As in all of her other work, Moxie’s beaming topline is the blueprint of unapologetic honesty and exquisite musicality. “Gravely’s” soundscape bathes the listener in a sound mimicking the vigorous emotions saturating her world at the time of writing. On the birth of “Gravely,” Moxie comments “Usually, I try to make peace with it when someone upsets me, and move on but (Drake) told me I needed to get angry.” Gravely is about the gravity of a person’s actions, and the ensuing consequences when you hurt someone.

Single 3 :Reason

You had me show you my weakest, then left me there with the pieces.
— "Reason" by Moxie Raia

Reason is a record with timeless, universal appeal; never losing relevance as Moxie expresses frankly the deep heartbreak and reflection on a relationship that truly seemed to be the one. “You told me you’d give me a reason…” she says, disappointment and pleading on play display in her performance.

This song seeks powerful cinematic production with minimal but robust drums, fleshed out further by bold melodic elements. Its themes represent the essence of the EP’s “soft” concept: vulnerable, honest, sensitive, unashamed. The life within this song is undeniable. Moxie bares her most tender emotional experience to the listener, and invites a deep connection to the track by sharing this truly human experience.

Behind the Music

In this interview with Slash Studios, Moxie shares how being in the hospital for 3 months, and almost losing her gift, has been monumentally formative in the Moxie sitting before us. We gain insight into how that experience helped Moxie brought her back to sense of self, and prepped her for delivering the “best music she’s ever created.”
