Second Spoon is a student-athlete run 501c3 registered non-profit organization that recycles nutritious surplus foods before distributing them to the those in need out of food trucks. Since the non-profitβs inception in 2018, Second Spoonβs mission has been to lead a future where food waste is a solution for food insecurity, climate change, and economic stimulation. With partnerships with the University of Miami, Vanderbilt University, Louisiana State University (LSU), University of Southern California (USC), and Whole Foods amongst others, they have rescued and redistributed upwards of 50,000 pounds of food.
