lan Kimble has been involved in the film industry as a director, writer, and producer for over ten years. He first found his love for storytelling in the theatre, acting in professional regional theatre productions in the Philadelphia and South Jersey area throughout high school. He attended the New York Film Academy to pursue formal training in multiple acting disciplines and directing for film, and continued his education with directing classes at The Barrow Group and the T. Schreiber Studio & Theatre. He returned to Philadelphia and began his career as a director, actor, and theatre teacher, directing over 14 plays (two of which he also wrote), acting in several plays and musicals (including an award nomination for his performance in The Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged), and teaching acting disciplines to high school and college students at Mainstage Center for the Arts. During this time, he also wrote, directed, and produced a number of short films, several of which achieved success in the festival circuit. lan brings his organizational, collaborative, and rehearsal techniques from his extensive theatrical experience into his film directing style: he prides himself on a communicative and efficient on set experience.
